Managing Director Multinational Manufacturing Group
European owned manufacturing client, employing approximately 300 people with a turnover of over £40M.
The Assignment:
The MD had decided to leave the local company to move on within the Group. He hadn’t had the time to develop an internal option and required a quick process to ensure a smooth transition and give him a sufficient handover period.
The Process:
Due to the lack of internal involvement, we had to work closely with the MD to gain an understanding of the remit of the role to give clarity to the type of individual that would succeed in the role. This was a very confidential process, so we had to ensure that we approached people who would seriously consider the opportunity and uphold the confidential nature of the situation, difficult in a relatively niche sector within a small market such as NI. We managed the process end-to-end, managing all arrangements at Group level, giving direction on interview questions and assessment techniques. We also managed negotiations with the selected candidate and managed all appropriate documentation.
The Outcome:
A successful placement was made within four weeks, the MD made the announcement of his departure and successor before the news leaked out to the wider group and disruption to the business was negligible.
